Figural Ceramics
Whimsical and delightful serveware ceramic designs sold to major retailers. Projects included inspiration, (Lots of that!) creative concepting, (lots of that too!) and lots and lots of drawing. Sketches were refined via digital rendering and sent to factory for sculpting. Communication with factory (collaboration with fabulous artisans at factory) to refine and perfect sculpting of designs. Colors- love love love color and beautiful glazes for various hand painting techniques. I feel happy people enjoy their chips and dip in daffodil shaped serveware!
The four seasons and holidays are always a source of inspiration designing seasonal, novelty serveware with new shape ideas. I love flowers, so a daffodil and cherry blossoms were used for Spring/Easter collections. A succulent was also inspiration for a fresh green crudité platter. For summer, I was inspired by paper tiki cocktail umbrellas so I designed plates and bowls. My original concept was retro vintage 1950’s colors of mint green and a warm pink. Items were also sampled in bright, fun summer colors, with bamboo edged items added. Autumn inspiration-so much to choose from! Pumpkins and leaves, and squash with a squash blossom, in elegant white and electroplated gold for holiday entertaining. Halloween is so much fun to design for with witch shoes and candy bowls. Christmas favorites are peppermint candy, a country truck cookie jar and a Santa’s boots cookie jar.
Earthenware (Dolomite) and Stoneware were clays used for all items. All items were manufactured in factories in China.
